Welcome everyone to Angela's blog. I'm Kelli, the official blogger, and work with Angela everyday to capture her latest updates, feelings and all around good love!
For those new to Angela's situation, let me give you the readers digest version. Angela was recently diagnosed with an aggressive colon cancer that has spread to other organs in her body, namely the ovaries, liver, stomach lining and lymph nodes. On Monday May 20th, Angela underwent a surgery that removed the cancerous ovaries (ya! out with you guys) but couldn't not remove the other pieces, YET! The key after this surgery was that Angela needed to get strong quickly so that she could undergo chemotherapy to shrink the other cancerous areas and then follow up surgeries could be made. Of course, Angela the go getter that she is, was up on her feet so quickly and is even helping the other people in her room! This is also great news, her strength is good and she is recovering very well. On June 12th she will start her chemotherapy, unless if the surgical recovery continues to go so well they can get her started more quickly. Hooray! She is having another scan, the PET scan, soon which will tell us if the cancer is just in the sites listed or if it is in other areas as well.
